Child of Lesbians Snatched by Baptist Extremists

My retitling is a little sensationalist, but what do you do when a story like this happens?

In it, a kid (had to two moms in Vermont) get kidnapped by one of her mothers — the one who renounced homosexuality under the thrall of some hardline Southern Baptists — who was aided by a pastor and an employee of Liberty University in traveling through Canada and Mexico to Nicaragua, where the poor kid's no doubt been raised under a lunatic pre-modern Christianity.

Your right to believe a crazy-ass religion does not give you the right to steal a child, nor the right to keep the kid from their non-crazy parent.

You can't teach French to a pig

So, since I gotta stop fighting with friends-of-friends on facebook pages, I'm putting this blog entry here so I can refer people to it any time they wanna mix it up.

That means every time someone starts spouting off about gay marriage, "socialism" or religion in government on social media and the discussion goes more than a couple comments, I'm going to refer people here.

Anyone else who wants to mix it up here is welcome.

Do Prop 8 proponents have standing to appeal?

Signs point to no, which is kind of a shame, because an appeal and loss from the chuckleheads behind 8 would be a huge win for same-sex marriage.
